Swedish massage is one of the most commonly offered massage techniques. It’s what people think of as
a classic massage.
The technique aims to promote relaxation and increase circulation by releasing
muscle tension.
Swedish massage is one of the gentle techniques and best suited for those looking just to relax or
release stress.
Swedish involves the whole body, so the client will be in their underpants at most. Clients are kept
draped except for the body part which is being worked on. Swedish is done with the aid of oils or
lotions to allow the therapists to glide over the skin without friction.
The therapist will discuss your areas of concern that you would like addressed and ask you to undress
and will leave the room as you get under the covers either face down or face up depending on the area to
be worked on.
Swedish is usually gentle but not necessarily, if you are finding the touch to strong or to light, please
inform the therapist so they may adjust to your preference. Sometimes areas that are bothering you
will be much more tender than other parts of the body.
The therapist may find areas you are not aware
of that are an issue.
Swedish massage is good for tight muscles, circulation, stress, headaches, posture, strengthen the
immune system, a nurturing touch, improve mind-body connection and general relaxation.
