engage in physically demanding work or sports.
This work addresses the joints, tendons, ligaments and
muscles. The work maybe done prior to and event or just after to limit the damage done to the body.
Sports massage benefits are combined relaxation, removal of lactic aid, performance enhancement,
recovery and better sleep. This can assist people new to fitness, amateur athletes, and dedicated
athletes.
Your therapist will have a discussion with you after your initial questionnaire to ascertain what areas are
to be addressed and how long this might take to ease. If you are coming for a chronic condition or an
injury the number of sessions will be more to help bring you back into balance and health again.
They
may also suggest you come for more than one in the week to aid the recovery process. If this is just for
release of tightness from your activities it will depend on how hard or often you use your body.
Someone who does a physically demanding job or exercises more than 3 day a week may require once a
week and exercises to get back to normal.
Someone who is less rigorous with their body may go every 2
or 3 weeks between sessions. This is something that will be noticed by your therapist during your first
session.
